Join us for an exciting evening to discuss translated literature. Whether you're a fan of literary fiction or just looking to try something new, this book club hopes to achieve just that. In June, we will be looking at From Savagery by Alejandra Banca, translated from Venezuelan Spanish by Katie Brown.

We are also delighted to welcome Katie Brown to our group, where she'll be participating in our book club to read and converse with members about the translating process.

ABOUT From Savagery

ABOUT DR KATIE BROWN

Katie Brown is a senior lecturer in Modern Languages at Exeter University. An expert on contemporary Latin American culture, she has appeared on BBC Radio 4’s “Open Book” and is part of the women’s UK, US, and Venezuelan translation collective, Colaboratorio Ávila. Her translations appear regularly in the quarterly journal, Latin American Literature Today .
