Why we liked it – Reminiscent of Arnold Lobel’s Frog and Toad, these four short (but connected!) stories are brought to life with Jarvis’ trademark warm and charming illustrations, and it’s in how Bear and Bird handle each hiccup that the humour and thoughtfulness comes into its own. Perfect for the emerging reader and anyone who enjoys a gentle and hopeful tale.

Bear and Bird are best friends! And while they don’t always understand each other, they both agree: all they want is to make the other happy. So, when Bear forgets to pack for a picnic (but pretends that he didn’t), Bird doesn’t let on that she knew all along.
