Join us for an exciting evening to discuss translated literature. Whether you're a fan of literary fiction or just looking to try something new, this book club hopes to achieve just that. In October, we will be looking at Heart Lamp by Banu Mushtaq, Winner of the 2025 International Booker Prize, translated from Kannada by Deepa Bhasthi. This is a book with a mighty message: it is the first time a book translated from Kannada into English has been recognised by a prize, the first short-story collection to win the IBP and the first time an Indian translator has won the International Booker Prize.
